Contribution and Charges

Freshwater Bay Primary School Board endorse the schedule of Contributions and Charges. This is in accordance with the Department of Education’s School Education Regulations 2000 and School Education Act 1999.

Charges

Charges:  Any costs for which payment is compulsory – Curriculum Related Activities Compulsory Charges to participate (eg: Extra Curricular Activities and Specialist Activities)

Extra Cost Options:  Participation in these components is voluntary, but a compulsory charge is payable if the student opts to participate.  Additional opportunities for which students are selected eg: Inter-school Swimming, Athletic Teams, Incursion/Excursions.  Costs are billed as the events are organised.

Voluntary Contributions

The current allocation for this component is $60 per student, in line with School Education Regulations 2000.

School Contributions:  A voluntary payment requested from parents towards the cost of materials, services and facilities used by students to enhance expenditure in curriculum learning areas. Though the contribution is voluntary the amount collected enriches the quality of our teaching and learning programs and supplements funding gained from other sources, including the State and Commonwealth Governments.

Voluntary Approved Requests

P&C Contributions:  A voluntary payment requested from parents to assist the P&C to provide funding which supports student programs and facilities at Freshwater Bay Primary School.

Whilst voluntary, The P&C Contribution provides invaluable additional funds to the school.  The P&C support the school through various fundraising activities and the voluntary contributions collected from parents.  This financial support from the P&C assists us in delivering the quality education program and facilities that we provide to students at Freshwater Bay Primary School.  An example of how the P&C contributions have contributed to the school in the past are:

  • Funding the lease of ipads for students to use in the classrooms
  • Online Maths Programs/Subscriptions
  • ICT Coaching for Staff
  • Cowan Hall Upgrade
  • Playground Upgrades

Technology Support: The total amount of this contribution parents/caregivers are requested to pay has been set at $50.00 per student. Contributions received will be utilised to enhance school expenditure in relation to school owned technology.

Building and Grounds: The total amount of this contribution parents/caregivers are requested to pay has been set at $50.00 per student. Contributions received will be utilised to enhance school buildings and grounds.

Payment: Every effort is made to keep costs to a minimum and affordable. If you are experiencing financial difficulties or are unable to make payment please contact  managercorporateservices.freshwaterbay.ps@education.wa.edu.au. If you do not wish to pay any or all of the Voluntary Contributions or Voluntary Approved Requests, you will need to advise us to have these items removed from your account.
