At Freshwater Bay Primary School, we are dedicated to nurturing a deep understanding and respect for cultural and Indigenous heritage within our community. Our commitment to this cause is embedded in our curriculum, teaching practices, and school culture.
We provide students with meaningful learning experiences that celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that make up our society. By incorporating a variety of perspectives and histories into our lessons, including cultural celebrations and open dialogue, we ensure that students develop a broader and more inclusive worldview.
We are very proud of the reciprocal arrangement we have with Moorditj Noongar Community College (MNCC) where students from both schools participate in a two-part combined Indigenous Cultural Activities Program typically scheduled as part of NAIDOC week celebrations. This program enables our Year Three students to engage in collaborative activities focusing on literature, art, sustainability and physical education and is a wonderful opportunity for students to continue to be enriched through a visible demonstration of how together we can achieve a common goal of valuing diversity.
